Who We Are

Readers thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about who we are.

Honorary Homesteader is a quaint operation dedicated to documenting both our horticultural and culinary advancements.

Honorary Homesteader is located in Northern New England. Honorary Homesteader’s blog is dedicated to taking our newly acquired property from a baren rock infested wasteland (just kidding it’s not that bad more of an overgrown and underkept piece of property, but there are a lot of rocks) to a beautiful oasis of culinary cultivation.

Prior to starting Honorary Homesteader, cooking and baking always brought joy to the lives of those around me. However, as the years passed, I noticed that the flavors of produce obtained from the grocery store were ever increasing in their blandness. The fruits and vegetables of today are watery and lacking in depth of flavor; whereas, when I was a child fruits and vegetables, the most obvious example being tomatoes, were so rich in flavor they only required a quick sprinkle of salt or pepper to be enjoyed. As such, I have decided to return to garden grown produce to ensure the most rich and complex flavor profiles when I am cooking and baking. I wish readers like you get enjoyment from following along and enjoy my journey while also hoping that this blog inspires your own journey.
