A Little Cookie Dream
Ever just get hit with a craving for something you are unsure exists? Well, that was me this weekend. I was suddenly craving cookies and cream cookies. Therefore, I took to the internet to search for exactly what I was eager to find. I went through about 15 different recipes before finding the one that I wanted to make. See below.
Ingredients
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
2 room temperature eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 Hershey’s cookies and cream bars
15 Oreo cookies
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, set aside.
Chop the cookies and cream bars and oreos into bite size pieces.
In a new bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixed beat the butter and cream cheese. Then, cream in the white and brown sugar. Scrapping down the sides with a rubber scraper as needed.
Next add vanilla extract and the two beat eggs. Mix until combined.
Combine the dough, oreo pieces, and cookies and cream pieces.
Cover the dough and chill for at least 30 minutes, or a maximum of overnight.
After desired chill time, scope the dough into round balls and place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Let cool for 5 minutes and then enjoy.
These cookies were just what I needed to satisfy my craving. They were soft, fluffy and had the right amount of cookies and cream flavor, without that overpowering white chocolate flavor (which I personally to not enjoy).
